Ablechild is a proud member of the New Canaan, CT Chamber of Commerce. It has participated in the chamber’s annual sidewalk sale every July since 2005.

On July 25, 2007 Ablechild's Co-founders Ms. Patricia Weathers and Ms. Sheila Matthews along with other parents and organizations visited with lawmakers to show our support for "The Parental Consent Act", informed consent, and drug safety.  We are pleased to say that many legislators are willing to listen to parent's voices.

Connecticut Action March 2007: CT Mother and Ablechild Co-Founder, Ms. Sheila Matthews meets with State Representative Hetherington.  Hetherington came to the aid of parents by sponsoring a bill to ensure that all parents are provided with full informed consent and their right to refuse psychiatric services within schools.

Psychbuster Event Ablechild’s parent members and children rallied against labels and drugs on June 22, 2006 in West Haven , CT.   Members protested outside the Savin Rock Conference Center where a “Children’s Behavioral Health Expo” was being held.

36th Annual CCHR Awards.  Ablechild was in attendance at the Citizens Commission on Human Rights Awards Ceremony in Beverly Hill California. February 26, 2005

One World, One Child Benefit. Ablechild was cordially invited and had the pleasure of attending this event in New York City, November 11, 2004.

Citizens commission on Human Rights Exhibit at Hartford Capitol “Psychiatry Exposed” “Destroying Lives” Sheila Matthews, National Vice President of Ablechild.org,  was invited to host a section on children fatally drugged.

AbleChild was in attendance at Connecticut’s State Education Conference “Inclusive Education Promising Practices” on Saturday October 25th, 2003, sharing important information with educators as well as the public.
